A raw, rare and deeply Malagasy material
Our pieces are born from a cotton that grows freely in the South of Madagascar, among the raketa cacti and the sisal. Harvested and transformed by hand, it carries within it the land of Androy.
Wild cotton
Wild cotton is harvested by hand and undergoes no chemical treatment. Spun and then hand-woven, it produces a fabric with a living texture: every thread has its own thickness, every piece its own breath.
It is a rare material. Its production depends on the harvests and on the weavers' time, and no two pieces are ever quite alike.
The materials that accompany it
- Soga — A textile in natural, understated tones. Foreign in origin, it has over time become part of Malagasy tradition. Its colours and texture pair perfectly with firaka.
- Linen — For the lightness and fluidity of certain pieces.
- Sisal — The emblematic fibre of the South, used in our second collection. Supplied by Madagave.
- Plant dyes — Colour after colour, our fabrics are dyed by hand. The brown of the warm earth of the South, the white of harmony with nature, the yellow of the Androy sun.
- Shells — Traditional ornaments of Antandroy women, featured on some of our evening pieces.
