Aina Luciana Rasoloarisoa
Founder, creator and designer
Portrait
Aina Luciana is the face and the heart of Ain'Ampela. Nothing destined her for fashion: trained in public law, she first built a career in hospitality. But Malagasy textiles have always been part of her life, and the desire to give them the place they deserve finally won.
In 2024, she chose the wild cotton of Androy and met the weavers of Ambondro. From that meeting a house was born, at the crossroads of craft, design and social impact: a fashion that tells a story, gives the artisans a voice and reconciles aesthetics and ethics.
The turning point of 2024
Her first collection, “The Roakemba”, won the Cape of Honour at the Ethical and Sustainable Fashion competition, organised by the Institut français de Madagascar in partnership with Air France. Twelve finalists, a single Cape of Honour, awarded for its originality and social impact.
The prize opened the doors to a training stay in Paris and to the Première Vision trade fair. A journey that confirmed her intuition: it is often far from home that we measure the richness of our own culture, and local materials and their stories have everything it takes to move the world.
What guides her
- Passion for traditional Malagasy craftsmanship.
- Excellence: quality and authenticity, down to the very last finish.
- Social impact: enabling the artisans to make a dignified living from their craft.
